question about BM dresses

question about BM dresses

Are all your bridesmaids trying on the dress before ordering it? I have a dilemma, the place where I want to order the BM dress from doesnt carry that particular dress so I want to go with my MOH and sister in law to try it on elsewhere and then have the girls go get measured at this other place because their prices are cheaper.

Would it be bad if all the girls don't try the dress before hand? I mean if they want they can go to RK or Bridal Reflections to try it, I just don't want to inconvenience them with running all over town but I want them to save extra $$$....

Please help...

i think you should tell them that the salon your ordering from doesnt have a sample, but they can take their measurements....if they want to try a sample on tell them what stores they can find it at are located....then leave it up to them.....just make sure you tell them when they need to order by!

thats a good idea and at least this way they can go try it on if they want. Thanks

I agree, I would just let them know the situation. If they choose to go to the other store in order to try it on then go with them.

Maggie, the same exact situation happened to me. The store we ordered the dresses from didn't carry a sample of the POB dress we ordered. I had gone with a few of my bridesmaids to try it on at POB in Mineola, but their prices and alterations were too overpriced. I offered the other girls that I would take them to POB if they wanted to try it on, but nobody objected, and we just ordered them. In the end 3 of my 7 bridesmaids saw the dress. They didn't seem to mind.

Dont worry about it..this happens all the time..if its a style that is not flattering on every figure (like mermaid or really fitted) i might suggest having the girls try them on so you can decide if you like the way it looks but if not plenty of people just send in measurements over the phone if they can't make it to the store!

Re: question about BM dresses

The dress my FSIL wants us to wear is an older Alfred Angelo dress that we can't find at any nearby salons. She was able to try it on herself when she was in NC and she liked it, so we're just going to get measured and order them.
