My fiance and I are starting to plan our wedding. One glitch we have come across is that we do not know where he was baptised. It was definitely on Long Island, we just don't know where and his father can't remember. Does anyone know how to find this information out? Also, can you be married in a catholic church if the only sacrament you have received is baptism? thanks in advance!

Re: Question about booking a church
I am not sure if you need to have recieved all of the sacraments to get married in the church...although it would not surprise me..Also maybe try calling the Diocese and asking about the baptimal certificate

Re: Question about booking a church
IF you are Catholic you do have to be Baptised, made Holy Communion and Confirmed to get married in a catholic church. For instance FH is not Catholic so he's not requried to have any but we were told we cannot have a full mass but being that I am Catholic I had to present all these certificates.
You can call the Diocese to get this information for FH.

We were also told that we had to provide all of the certificates.

Re: Question about booking a church
I would think the Diocese of Rockville Centre would have centralized baptism records, but maybe not?
I think as long as one of you has your sacraments that is fine, although then you couldn't have a full mass (I believe).
