I found a dress I really like but, it is ivory. I never thought I would like any other color other then white, but this one is beautiful. Even my mother and my sister love it and are surprised they would like a ivory dress for a wedding day. Anyone else out there getting a ivory dress? And if you are, what color flowers in your BK are you going to get?????

Re: Question about bridal gown?
I got an 'ivory' gown. Although it's called ivory, it's really more of an off-white. Also, it's a silk gown and those don't come in pure white.
I always visioned a white gown also. But, after trying them on, I found them to be too stark. I prefer the off-white; it's softer and imo is nicer to look at.
My bouquet will be blush roses.

Re: Question about bridal gown?
ivory is a very popular choice in weding gown colors - it is actually a bit more flattrering on most skin tones.
I would think any flowers would work with ivory - no?

Re: Question about bridal gown?
My sister and my mom thought that a white dress was just not flattering with my skin tone. When I tried on 2 ivory dresses they thought they were beautiful on me. I was thinking of using a light color roses and white calla lilies.

Re: Question about bridal gown?
I'm doing 'ivory' also. I'm just too pale and white looks ridiculous on me.
ETA: I'm a fall bride so I'll be doing a mix of fall colored roses and callas.

Re: Question about bridal gown?
I have an ivory dress. I never wanted a pure white dress, IMO not flattering on many skin tones. I think ivory (or the other different shades of off-white) are just gorgeous

Re: Question about bridal gown?
Ivory looks good on some white looks good on others. I think both would look beautiful with your skin tone alli, so if you found a dress that is 'your dress' and it happens to be ivory and you love it...then go for it. A lot of people have ivory dresses and they are beautiful. The dress I bought I first tried on in ivory and it did not look good because it MATCHED my complexion EXACTLY! So it did not look right. For those who are lighter or tanner it seems to work better.
Go for it! Do you have a picture you would like to share?
