Question about Burtons

Hi, I have a flower appointment with Burtons on Wednesday. I've noticed that most people have been very happy with them, but I also read in some reviews that they do not show you any pictures or samples when you meet with them. Is this true? Any words of advice from those of you who are using Burtons or used them in the past? TIA!

Re: Question about Burtons

Mom and I met with Burtons on a Saturday morning. The place was buzzing with people making the floral arrangements for the weddings that day. I got to see 1 bouquet in person (and it happened to be the same color scheme I want to do, so that was a plus) and he had a couple of books that we looked at to choose the type of centerpieces we wanted, etc. We had a great experience with them. HTH!

Re: Question about Burtons

I went to Burton's and was underwhelmed by the knowledge of the person helping me. She showed me pictures of things they had done and when I told her what I wanted she pulled a few flowers from the back together.

She didn't quite 'get' what I wanted (I really want low centerpieces, flush to the table and she told me 'you don't want that. You want to give your guests a nice vase to bring home'...um, no). The price was pretty good, but the person helping me wasn't a florist and didn't really know what would look good (in my opinion).

We found much better service at Flower Michelle and Oberle's (who we're going with) where we met with the florist, not a salesperson.

Anyway, I think Burton's is fine, lots of girls use them on here, but I thought Oberle's and FM were better...Just my opinion!

Re: Question about Burtons

I went to burtons maybe over a week ago, I wasnt planning on doing flowers but I saw them at the bridal show and they quoted an excellent price for something similar to what i want so I followed up with an appointment. I was not feeling it at all and was rather dissapointed with their approach...

Im a bit 'OCD' so it could be just me!!!

I too went to Burton's, alot of 09 brides are booking with them.. They gave me a good price but, they lacked in personality and FH was like NO way are we going with them, they werent helpful. We are booking with LA BLoosom, Laurie is great and gave us a great price and is working with us on my ideas for what I want. We felt much more comfortable with her.

Re: Question about Burtons

My fiance and I recently went there to check them out. I know a lot of people who used them and loved their work. To be honest with you, the person we met with showed little interest and had no samples except for old pictures of flowers to show us. We left not feeling confident.

Re: Question about Burtons

Most people recommend Burton's because their prices are very reasonable. I met with them and a few other florist and chose Designs by Rose. Her and her mother Doris are awesome. Their price was also a few hundred dollars cheaper than Burton's. I

I went with them not only bc of their prices but because they were willing to do what I wanted... Also they had been rec. by several for their work not their prices

Re: Question about Burtons

I just booked them and I also went with my sister when she booked. I know what people are talking about the personality but they did show us pictures and brought my sister a flower she liked. When I was there this past weekend they had a few bouquets we got to look at and I loved them. The lady I worked with was very knowledgable but I know the one my sister worked with was not as personable. But the price was right.
