is it unreasonable for me to ask them to have it cleaned for me, or is that something I should be taking care of since they are selling it to me at a discount...?

Re: question about buying a dress off the rack
You can try, but most likely they don't clear it. Just make sure you check the dress with holes, etc. before you buy it.

generally they don't do that for you, but you never know. the worst they can say is no, right?

Re: question about buying a dress off the rack
Really ladies??? I didn't get my dress at David's Bridal, but they did tell me that if I bought off the rack that they'd clean it for me - I thought they would ALL do that.
I would definitely ask and tell them that you've heard that was a normal practice. Good luck!

Re: question about buying a dress off the rack
08'er crashing.... I bought my dress off the rack. They are doing the bustle and alterations for me and steaming the dress. I heard dry cleaning is not good for detailing on a wedding dress, but if it needed cleaning, they would do that for me as well. Since the dress was in good condition, I am just having it steamed.

Bought my alvina valenta. Not only should they clean it you should bargain with them. I got 1000 off mine and free cleaning and alterations. Never know unless you ask. Act like you have another one in mind at a different store!! They need to get rid of that dress eventually and all they can do is say no!!!
