We received a check in the mail made out to Mr. and Mrs. P. Can I deposit this? We don't have a joint account with my new last name. Do I have to wait until after the wedding and I change my name? Help!

I think you need to put it in his acct, you dont have that last name. Better to do it now before you get 'hectic' and maybe misplace it, + its extra money towards the big day

I am not sure it matters-- we have a joint account and I have kept my last name- we have gotten a variety of checks written out different ways- including one to Mr and Mrs DH's middle name.. read the invitation people!!
It helped I was depositing a ton of checks-- obviously we had just gotten married.

we deposited them in his account and i just added myself to his account...
on a side note, we got one check that was made out to my mother (???)

You should be able to endorse it to 'for deposit only' with your account number on it and have no problem.

actually it may depend on the bank. I bank at HSBC and they wouldn't let me deposit anything that was made out to Mr & Mrs. until my name was changed on the account to reflect the married name. He is currently on the account but it didn't matter.

we have a joint account. the accounts haven't been changed over yet. the bank took the checks made payable to mr and mrs gary a....

My bank, also HSBC wouldn't let me deposit them so they went into his bank account.

Definitely do it right away. I have already 'misplaced' the one check we received. I don't know what I am going to do if I don't find it soon!!!

I cashed all our checks, made out to Mr. & Mrs. C in my personal account, that has my maiden name. There were no issues at all, as long as you endorse them.
