Question about children in bridal party with Poll.

Okay, I had posted a while back that we lost our flower girl. We had decided to not have one. However after discussing the topic again this weekend, I need a little feedback…

My parents are divorced and both remarried, and I have stepsiblings. On Dad’s side there is 1 boy (13) and on Mom’s side is 1 boy (17) and 2 girls (14 and 12). I have asked the boy on Mom’s side to be an usher, he said yes (going to ask the boy on Dad’s side the same thing this weekend). I asked the girls to hand out programs and petal cones at the church. My mom suggested my step-Dad’s niece (who is a petite 8), when I mentioned this to FH, he asked about having my youngest step-sister as the flower girl, but I think 12 is too old.

My question is, would it be “wrong” to have my step-dad’s niece as the flower girl and “promote” my stepsisters to junior bridesmaid? I ask if it’s “wrong’ b/c my parents don’t speak (they don’t even live in the same time zone…literally) and I would hate for my Dad to think I was favoring her side. Though I am going to ask my aunt (Dad’s sister) to do a reading.

We do have a ring bearer, my 5 yr old nephew.

Thanks…sorry if I seem a bit nuts with this!!! (I am PMSing)

I don't think it's wrong to promote your stepsisters to Jr bridesmaid. I agree 12 is definetly too old for a flowergirl. I was a flowergirl when I was 10. Good luck

unless you are close with your stepdad's neice, i would just keep it all 'as is' and not have a flower girl. it's just not worth the hassel or drama that might ensue if your dad gets offended...

I would just have a ring bearer and promote your step-sisters to jrBM. It seems like that would be the easiet thing that would cause the least amount of problems.

I decided on no kids at all. It was too much to deal with the parents of the kids for my brother's wedding back in March. I can't even imagine how much stress it would be for my own.
