Question about church ceremony: Prayer of the Faithful

Do we need a reader for this?

You can assign someone to read it. If not you can probably ask the priest or deacon to do it.

My priest is doing this. You can ask someone to do it, but we actually just preferred that it be done by our priest.

already answered but I didn't realize until our rehearsal so we had the deacon read it----but if you have more people you want to include in the wedding, it's another spot for a reader!

My priest is also doing this, we didnt want to ask another person to read...

We had someone do it...

In my opinion, this is your chance to add your own personal prayers to the ceremony or Mass..... During the Prayer of the Faithful, you pray for the sick and the dead in your families, you pray for your marriage, you pray for your own intentions.... therefore, I think it's nice for someone that you know to read it rather than the priest who will probably not know the specific people you are praying for.

we had someone read it. This was another way to include a special member of our family in our day!!! We also added a section to pray for those that could not be here with us today, especially.....and we listed our close family members that have passed. It was a special touch!
