Question about conceiving...

is it true that once you 'try' to fertilize an egg.. that's it for that egg (especially if you don't get prego?.. is true that you have to wait until the next cycle/egg to try again. you only have 1 shot with the egg.. or can you try let's tonight and then tomorrow night?

am I making sense??

You can keep trying that egg stays there but sometimes the tadpoles(lol I like to call them that) either die on the way or when trying to get in the egg so you can keep trying everynight if you wanted HTH

Im not sure if Im reading the question right, but I recommend if your using an ovulation predictor kit, or if you think you know the day you ovulate.. I would try the day before, the day, and the day after.
Also, this may sound silly and may not be needed but may help... you can put a pillow under your bottom afterwards to just help out a bit. I also heard it may help to not stand up for a little while.. makes it easier..

Anyway, these are all things I heard. May not be true. However as silly as they may be, I tried them and was pregnant in the first month. Maybe even the first time..

I was told that once you do the hanky-panky & try to fertilize the egg... and the egg does not fertilize.. that's it for the egg... i guess no more second chances??

i think I might be in trouble!

lol... I'm not sure if I myself understand my own question... but I was not trying to conceive... on our HM we got a little careless... and it happened 3 or 4 times... even when we came home...

I'm 27 years old.. you think that I would know these things by now

but I think you ladies anwsered my questions! thank you!

the egg will survive 12-36 hours, u can try as much as you want before that and during...the sperm can live 4 days so its best to have some in there before you ovulate....there is one egg, sometimes 2 ...if both are fertilized u get twins.....its not about one sperm trying and the egg dies, the egg has 36 hours, so if one sperm fails, try another, u will never know so just do it every day during fertile time
