Girls, can anyone give me and idea of exactly what a DOC is responsible for doing? I understand that they help things go more smoothly, but what else?

different vendor to vendor, but basically they can help w/ favors, out of town bags, recommendations for vendors, who to stay away from, they call your vendors to confirm, they make sure everything on your contract is fulfilled, they go to rehearsal to organize everything, to meet important people in the wedding, will know of any issues that need to be known with family etc., they make and keep a timeline for the day of so that everything that has to get done does, will make sure all photos on must take list are taken, none to be forgotten, any issues that arise that day...ex limo breaks down, no air cond. something like that...the problem is now hers , she will handle the difficulties, a guest arrives who is uninvited...she takes care of it, finds seating whatever... the list can really go on and on!

With all the planning and everything going on lately I couldn't get past the 'They help everything go smoothly' and just need some specifics!
We along with sevral A+ vendors here on LIW were featured on the show Whose Wedding Is It Anyway. They follow DOC and couples to see how wedding really happen. This can give you an idea of who she (Laura) is ...

I just got to see it for the first time. It was great. I cried. I didn't know that her parents weren't there but I'm glad you were surrounded by great people on your day!!
