ummm so some people tell me if my dog has fleas I shouldn't be able to see them easily...but i do. they look like they match up to the pics of fleas and they are biting her because I saw little dots of blood by her eyes. I've bathed her in flea and tick shampoo, put the zodiac spot on, a flea collar, and also sprayed the house with an all natural flea and tick household repellant and killer.
she still has bugs!! I just took a bunch out and killed em with a tweezer and then VACUUMED MY DOG! I don't know what else to do!!!

Re: question about dog fleas
both my dogs had fleas this summer. i tried zodiac and the flea collar. It helps but didn't get rid of the flea problem. My vet recommended Frontline. It will get rid of fleas and ticks. My dogs are flealess now. Good luck.

Re: question about dog fleas
You gotta get front line. Its truly the only thing that works. They'll be dead in 24 hours.

i didn't see it at Petco, but I never bothered to ask. I got it through my vet. Darn, i could've saved myself a few bucks.

1800petmeds.com has it for about $40.00....it has 3 applications. You'll only need one now, and you'll have some left over for next season....

yeah, 1800petmeds are very reasonable. In fact when I called in a prescription they had to verify with my vet. So my vet found out that I'v been getting medication cheaper somewhere else, so they said they'll price match. You should see if your vet will price match. But if its for fleas, I wouldn't wait, it takes a few days to deliver.

Re: question about dog fleas
yup frontline is the only thing that works. its pretty expensive so i buy it on ebay for $20 instead of $40. my dog had soo many but they all went away with the frontline.

Re: question about dog fleas
i heard once your dog has fleas they can get in your house and that they multiply very quickly - and then you might have to get an exterminator.....i dont know how true that is - but id be worried about fleas in your house especially if your dog goes on your couches or bed. i know my dog does! good luck!!! oh and i heard frontline is really good!

Re: question about dog fleas
I use frontline too. We have a lot of ticks in the area and even if I am late applying it and she gets one on her, it dies pretty quickly.
You can also try a flea dip ... I think it's stronger than the shampoo .. not sure what it entails though and where you have to go for it - maybe the vet can do it when you go for the frontline?

I didn't even think of buying it on ebay!!!!! I assume it's all unopened and reputable?

Re: question about dog fleas
the fleas should die out soon- but you may want to take her to petco and have her flea dipped- we did this with katie & it was sooo much better
but just a warning- flea collars are not good for dogs- they are linked to a cancer that they get. just an fyi

Re: question about dog fleas
I just had that problem with my cat---I took her to the vet and they gave her a bath and some pill--then the next day I had to put frontline on her and I cleaned my house from top to bottom--I put everything in the laundry and vacuumed and scrub everything----I still saw some after the fact---but if you wait a few days--they should be gone--esp once they go on the dog--they will die from the stuff you put on her.

Can you FM me the name of the seller you buy it from? As long as someone I know has used it and it worked fine, I'll try it!

Re: question about dog fleas
There is also a med. called K9 Advantix. It is just like Frontline, repelling fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes.
