MIL wore a shade of blue that was close to the navy that my BMs wore. I didn't notice, didn't care but some people have asked me why she did that.
I mean it's over and I don't care but am I missing something - does that stuff really matter enough for some people to mention it?

Ignore them Mel. If you didn't notice then, it wasn't that big of a deal...it's not like you didn't see her much or anything

It's strange what people pick up on during your wedding that you just try to make yourself oblivious to!

IMO people are always looking for something to say so I think they must have had to look EXTRA hard if that's what they came up with!! I can understand why you are like what the heck?? But I would try not to let it bother you because they are just 'knit-picking'. There are a million shades of blues and it is such a popular color anyone could have worn the exact same color if you think about it. People can be SO frustrating sometimes.

Re: Question about dress colors
It's fine, Ignore it!!! The proper thing is for the bridal party to be in a different color so they stand out. I believe the mother of the bride can be in something of the same family but totally differnt color. The Groom's mom should be in a differnt color but one that doesn't clash. Also the MOB picks the dress first then the MOG picks after and then the grandparetns. I started to do that and got all worried about colors my mom won't go pick out her dress!! ugh and FMIL is soooo slow but I can drag her so we went shopping. When I talked to my mom about it she said that's the old rules you are doing everything you want who cares what the 'rules' are. Everyone looks differnt in every dress and color so each person stands out on their own. It shouldn't matter even if we wore the same dress!! So that would be the opinion of my mom lol. It's just people be old school making comments.

Re: Question about dress colors
The same could be said for those picking black BM dresses!! A lot of people wear black to weddings, and would people say 'hey why are all of those guests wearing black when the BMs are?'
If you didn't care, then they shouldn't care either.

Re: Question about dress colors
I don't worry about such minor things but some brides are concerned about it for the pics. My FH's mother called me the other day to ask me if she could wear a certain color. I was like...who am I to tell you what color to wear? Wear what makes YOU comfortable and confident. That's just me though.

Re: Question about dress colors
My mom decided to wear a similar color to the BM dresses. Luckily there is black lace over the BM dresses so it will be a little different. I don't really care. I'm not about to fight her. I think it looks fine as long as she doesn't wear white or ivory (for my wedding. I know some people's moms wear ivory or white and its' fine. For mine though, I wanted my mom to wear a color).

Right - and like I said, I don't care - I just wondered how much it mattered to other people.

You know what? That is really the only odd thing anyone has said about my wedding...I think you're right!!

Re: Question about dress colors
100% true people need something to criticize!!! No ones day can ever be perfect so they just invent things.
My favorite!!! Whey did she wear black? ugh she was in morning about the wedding she didn't want her son to marry that woman I can tell she's just putting on a fake smile. Can you belive anyone would say that!!! I love to wear black it makes me look skinner!!! lol I guess I better not ever have sons then lol.

Obviously it doesn't matter to you becaues you didn't notice and YOU are the ONLY one that counts. It was YOUR day@

Re: Question about dress colors
Some people feel that the bridesmaids are supposed to stand out as a show of honor therefore no one should match them. Others, like you, don't give a hoot!
