question about eloping before the wedding (i.e., can you marry the same person twice?)
I remember reading somewhere on here that you can obtain a marriage license to marry the person to whom you are already married -- in other words, then no one (not even the officiant) would need to know the second wedding was actually a second wedding.
I have NO plans to elope before the wedding... but I am really curious about this. I cannot find any information on it either.
Is this true? Can you get a seond marriage license, even after you've been married? Where did you find this information?

We talked about eloping before the wedding too & just not telling anyone ;) I don't know though.... ?

shhhh my dad did this, he got married by JOP in Ny and had another marriage (same woman) in Wisconsin, real on file and everything, I think you can get in trouble for it though, forgot why, wasn't supposed to say anything though... He did it here becuase the wait time was less from the time of a divorce and she needed insurance or something, but wedding already planned in WI so they made that offical to

I think you can have a civil ceremony and then have a religous ceremony or vise versa

I think there are a couple LIW brides on here that have alredy done a civil marriage and are planning the church marriage too.......
