i called my photog today to set up the appt. and asked when my photog that would be doing our wedding is available for our e-shoot. the girl who answered the phone is like they're (the photogs) shooting weddings so ur e-shoot will be w/someone else. i was like i thought the whole point of an e-shoot is for my fh and i to meet with and get comfortable with our photog. shes like no either myself or so and so will be doing it. lets just say she had a tone to her voice too. so i said can u have so and so (the woman who i booked with) call me back please. she said sure, i'll do that. so am i wrong in thinking that the e-shoot is done by our wedding photog.?
ETA: ok i just spoke with owner and explained that we are out of towners so it would be hard to make 2 trips (1 for the e-shoot and then another one to meet the photog). he said sure no problem and was even able to get me and FH in on a saturday in April. so much for the girl telling the weding photog's aren't available. so FH and i have our e-shoot with our WEDDING photog on 4/21. YAY!!!

I am not doing the e-shoot through my photog but I agree with you, you should have the same person for both so you can get to know each other's styles. Maybe if you talk to her yourself she will do it.

Hmmmmm we will not be doing our E-shoot until the spring, but I am praying that one of the photographers we are using will be conducting it . . . it makes since doesn’t it

Um...I don't think so. Not happening. You are absolutely right that is the point of the e-shoot! Uh, hellooooo...you aren't paying for some receptionist to take your pictures. I definitley think you need to make it clear that you want the photographer taking the e-pics. That's what you are paying for.
What is with these people?! Good luck and dont' back down!

You're right... the purpose of the shoot is to make sure that you like your photog... i would call again and try to speak with someone else - maybe she doesn't know what she's talking about....

I agree I was told that is why a lot of photog add free e-shoots to thier packages so you can meet and greet your photog.

We had our e-pics done by our wedding photographer, but honestly I didnt even think of it...I am glad he did it though!

My photographer that is doing my wedding did my photoshoot too...That is very strange that he/she is not doing yours...Definitely say something else!!

Absolutely not! the photograher doing the e-shoot should be your weddding photographer for just those reasons! I booked with Silverfox photography today in Massapequa. All of my experiences with them have been so pleasent I didn't even look for another photographer to compare them too.

we had our e-pics taken by the photograher we'll be using on our wedding day and I think it helped us to warm up around him and our videographer. our shoot was a photo & video shoot. and it did take a little while to warm up to them and their style. but by the end we knew exactly what they wanted us to do....and now we are ready for the wedding pictures knowing how they operate, the day will run smoothly.
it was a great experience to have our wedding photographer & videographer for our e-pics --- I highly recommend it!! plus you're paying for the service you should get what you want!!

i thought the same thing.....its to make sure you are liking the photog. whats the point if 10 other people take your pictures if they arent going to be with you all day on your wedding? maybe theres a time that the photog who is doing your wedding is free. i would talk to some one else....maybe she was having a bad day

Your right. Your e-shot should be with the person who will be doing your wedding. This way you get to know the person and feel comfortable with them. Our Photog will be doing our e-shoot.
