hi girls, i recently went to the gyn to get ocp to get rid of my period for the wedding and honeymoon. I mainly stay off the pill because i always gain at least five pounds no matter what i do. The doc prescribed estrostep (for people like me).
Does anyone have any experience with estrostep and weight gain?
i ran into one of my friends and she told me estrostep has made her gain lots of weight (and honestly the first thing i thought was that she did look heavier).

I took estrostep for 5 years, and I really didn't gain from it. I read recently that this new study says the average woman who takes the pill gains 2lbs a year.... and then it said the average woman who doen't take the pill gains 1.5 pounds a year... sooo with that said, I don't think it should afftect you that bad... HTH!!

My doc just prescribed estrostep for me...I haven't taken it yet , b/c I want to alter my period so i don't have my period for the wedding and HM...but he said its good and his patients that are on it haven't complained of a weight gain.... Hope so b/c i start the diet on Monday!

yeah those studies always annoy me cuz i def gain weight on orthlow. I've tried at least five times and the weight gain is significant. i get all bloated and my hips and thighs get big :(
i think it might have to do with each woman's body type... i've had bigger hips/thighs/butt since puberty.

i think it might have to do with each woman's body type... i've had bigger hips/thighs/butt since puberty.
I was on Estrostep for years and have the same body type. I didn't gain a pound while I was on it. I am going back on it next month and don't expect any problems.

ive been taking it for a little over a year.. i have to admit - when i first went on - i was a basket-case - lots of crying and stress (christmas time)sooo depending on the person you are - start it way before the wedding date to avoid that and to avoid getting it on the wedding..
i also skipped a week to avoid getting it on my wedding, and everything was fine..
* im great now - short periods, great skin, no mood swings or crying..
**i dont think ive gained weight on it.. ive been on the pill (diff kinds) for almost 8 yrs now (for med. reasons) , so im sure i gained any weight from college, not the pill..haha

On Estro I had no problems,no mood swings not a pound gained. My periods were either very light or almost nothing at all. I got off it a few months back because we were TTC..happy to say we are now Preggo . After the baby,I'll go back to Estro in a heartbeat.

Hi - I'm on Estrostep and I've not gained any weight from it. It has actually helped even out my skin too because I was getting stress-related breakouts all of the sudden.

I thought I had started to gain weight but I think that was just an adjustment...hopefully!
Ortho was awful for me the last month or 2 that I was on it...I was the moodiest beoch ever....and I was getting horrible leg cramps too!
The doctor was hoping I would do well on this so it would be easier to change around my period for my wedding

i have been on estrostep for 6 years. as a matter of fact, i have lost weight since then believe it or not..
i get mood swings the week before my period- everyone knows that i'm getting my period.. i love it though.
my skin is better and i hardly have cramps.

I have been on Estro now for a couple of years and its the best pill I've been on. Ortho made me gain 25 pounds and I was a crazy, moody, weepy witch. I currently am trying to diet and get in shape for the wedding and its not coming off as fast as it used to but I think its more me being 25 almost 26 than the pill.
It is also supposed to help clear up your skin if you have breakouts.

I'm on estrostep and I really like it, I have no problems at all. I actually don't really believe that the pill makes you gain weight... I think its what you're putting in your mouth that does that... jmo
