Question about Final Meetings...

Should I be calling to make the final appointments with the vendors or will they be calling me to set that up?

These vendors specifically:

DJ: LI Sound
Florist: Designs by Rose
Photog: Duet
Limo: Camelot

I am using Camelot as well and he said that he would be contacting me regarding final arrangements. He didn't mention when though.
I am not using Duet but my photographer recently sent me a couple of forms to fill out with instructions that they are due a month before the wedding along with a payment. I plan on going in person and speaking with my photographer about timing and specific pictures I want.
Not using the same DJ either but in the contract it says that I have to set up an appointment with him about 6 weeks before the wedding to go over everything.
I wondering the same thing about the florist. My contract doesn't mention when the final meeting will happen.

Duet text messaged us to remind us to fill out our must take photos and schedule and everything online. We never had a final meeting.

Rose contacted us also to go over what time the flowers neeeded to be delivered and when we could drop off our final payment. No final meeting there either.

Camelot was the same as Rose- confirmed all details on the phone and just dropped off final payment.

DJ we contacted them to meet with and filled out all our final paper work went over the schedule one last time and that was that.

But they do - Tues, Wed, Thurs. If you're interested in that, you might want to call from now to set up an appt since there's not a lot of day availability.

That is good to know! I would definitely want to sit down with him before the day just to know we are on the same page with everything. I'm going to see what day could work for FH and I'm going to make an appt. Thanks!

And thanks for the help girls! I guess with the limo and florist there really isn't much more needed to discuss except times and giving final payments so that makes sense.

Yupp- they definitely told us we wouldn't meet our photog until the day of the wedding. However, a lot of people have been complaining about that on here, so maybe they changed it. That's great! That was one thing I didn't like about Duet. Everything else was fantastic though! Good luck!

Well she had the CP ready for us to see at the initial meeting so I already know what they are going to look like. Our payment is due to her on April 8th and by then we should everything squared away and know how many tables we have. She's not very far from where we live so I'm not too worried about the meeting with her. It's the vendors that are out in LI that I am trying to figure out a schedule for since we don't want to make so many trips out there.

My photographer doesn't do a final meeting either - we just fill out all of the paperwork!

I just had a meeting with our venue to pick menu, cake, linen colors, etc.

I'm waiting to hear from my band and florist.

Exactly! When he said I could meet with TJ, I said 'What?! I didn't know that. You know a lot of people don't book with you guys because they think you can't.' and he laughed. I'm glad they're doing it. Even if their compromise was to only offer it on weekdays...I think it is going to be super helpful.
