I have only ONE more vendor left (!! yay !!) - a florist - and I have a question. I have NO idea what I should expect to pay for centerpieces and bouquets. We're expecting to have about 21-22 tables, so we'll need centerpieces for those, as well as 4 bridesmaid bouquets. I'd love to have elevated rose centerpieces, but to be perfectly honest, at this stage in the game I'm so over my original budget that anything decent will have to do!
I had originally budgeted $1500-1700 for flowers - do you think this is unrealistic? Also, can anyone reccomend an affordable, qualified florist that they have worked with?
Thanks so much! Happy planning!!

Re: question about florists
Unfortunately, yes, that is unrealistic for that many CPs. Even if you did low CPs, that's really pushing it. How many personal flowers will you be needing? Also, depending on which flowers you want, that affects the price as well.
I'm using Burton's, they charge you based on how many items you need, not the flower. They're very affordable. But I was even quoted 1950 for 13 CPS and all the bouquets (2 MOH, 4BK, me-regular and toss), corsages (5), and bouts (7).

Re: question about florists
You'll be able to do the high end of your budgeted price if you do LOW centerpieces. Each of my low centerpieces is costing around 50 BUT I provided the container they were in and I only have about 18 tables. You could switch to candles for the tables to save $$$! Good luck!

Re: question about florists
My cuz used la blossom, My cuz had a big bp and huge wedding her budget for flowers was 2,000, let me tell you her flowers were the nicest most creative elegant things I have ever seen. The flowers lastest at least a mth!
Thanks to everyone for their input! At least now I won't be shocked when I get quotes that are higher than I'd anticipated :)
Thanks!!

I have gotten 2 quotes so far from florists and both were around $1600.00 and Im not even getting centerpieces (making them myself). So $1500-$1700 would be unrealistic for 21-22 tables i think.
I went to a third and she kind of talked me into her doing my centerpieces but im basically designing them. I have though about it and I think I may depending on her quote which i wont be getting till next saturday. I just feel like it will make my day easier to not worry about my centerpieces if i was to do them myself.
I am only having 12-13 tables but I will def let you know my quote as soon as I get it!

Re: question about florists
I think your budget is a little low but you should definitely check out Burton's. They are amazing and they prices are unbelievable. They might be able to work with you a bit.

Re: question about florists
I guess it really depends upon how extravagant you want your flowers to be, but even still I think that may be a little unreasonable. I definitely recommend you contact Jen @ Verbena. Search her name on here and you will see that she doesn't have a single negative review. She's truly amazing and works so hard to accomplish your vision in just about any budget. I can't say enough amazing things about her. We went to 12 different florists (all the recommended ones on here) and she was by far the best!! I heart Jen!!! She is a MUST see!! You won't regret it. You can see a sample of her flowers in my album under the ones by Jen @ Verbena!! HTH! And feel free to FM me if you have any questions!

Re: question about florists
I would recommend checking out local florists as opposed to typical wedding florists. I paid about half of your budget for about half of the flowers, so I don't think it is impossible. My flowers were a mix of roses, daisies and sunflowers. Good luck!

Re: question about florists
you budget is and isn't unrealistic. I think with that many tables it will be hard to get 21-22 centerpieces made by a florist plus all the personals. But its worth a try. Bring your ideas and your budget to them when you go and meet and see what they can do. If they ant do something for you, consider candles and buying bunches of flowers and cerating something on your own.
My florist includes a bout. for each bouquet so the groomsmen and groom are covered. Definitely visit designs by rose and also verbena design. They can make it happen! See my album for photos of my CP sample.

Re: question about florists
i went to 4 florists, and am using Flowers by Matthew, in Wantagh. (both of my aunts used that florist when they got married... and my sister even worked there in high school 10 years ago) i had gone to burtons, and they beat their price! ask for irene if you contact them at all - and you can say kyle recommended you on li weddings!

Re: question about florists
Many times if you attend a bridal showcase they will give you a discount. I found my florist at a showcase and that night they offered me a 25% discount. I booked with them and it make a big difference!

Re: question about florists
I am not getting married till May of 2010. But the florist i am using quoted me 2,000.00 and that was for 20 centerpieces and 12 BM bouquets and my church and everything included. You name it and it was included pretty much. It was a great deal for what i am getting and it is any flower i decide on. It's Wicks Florist in Baldwin. I am 1 of 4 girls and 2 of my sisters used them :)

Re: question about florists
I have the same budget and called up Flower Michelle. I will have about 14 tables and 5 BM/ 5GM and they said that it was too small of a budget! I was kind of pissed... I later found out that they only book one wedding a day, so I bet they wanted a bigger budget on a Saturday evening.
