So, you guys know I'm having a very small wedding...40-50 people. I met with the florist today and I feel like she really understood what I wanted. Small, simple, elegant...natural, botanical looking arrangements. And she seemed to know how to carry it through from the bo-ks to the bouts, the urns and then for centerpieces.
Here's my question: Is $2,000 a lot to spend on the flowers? The venue itself (www.jedediahhawkinsinn.com) includes food and our wedding cake and it's only costing us $3750. It just seems so crazy to spend $2000 on flowers!
I really need your input!

That sounds like alot for such a small wedding. Is that the quote she gave you? I'd try a couple of other places.

My wedding is under 100 too. I think that too much! I can tell you that I am spending 1500.00 for mine.
That is for 8 cps 6 bouquets (mine being the most 165.00) 8 boutineers 2 corsages

Pew bows.
ETA: Two altar baskets
I thought mine was a bit pricey.

that is a lot. i think we paid just over 2000 and we had 14 centerpieces, five bms, 5 g, three grammas, 2 moms, and a sister.

That really does sound like a lot - I would talk to other florists... try Flower Barn in Seaford - I got a ton 12 bouts 8 bm boks (big) my bok 5 corsages petals
for under 1000... they are in Seaford.

I thought maybe I was crazy... It includes
my bok 125 MOH bok 80 Gardenia for my hair 25 5 nosegays for nieces 50 each 5 bouts 70 total 3 very small nosegays for mothers/stepmom 95
2 urns for ceremony 250 6 tiny aisle pieces on chairs 150 8 CPs ($640 alone!!!) 1 vase for bar area 75
It just sounds nuts! I emphasized how SMALL I want all the arrangements to be, including mine. I feel like it should be under $700!!!
This is the vendor who the Inn uses for all of its floral arrangements so I thought it would be easier to go with them. But I think I really should look at other places....

So I called the florist this a.m. and told her the quote was way out of our budget by about half...and that i'd have to let her know. She just said OK, let me know! I thought maybe she'd try to negotiate or bring the price down -- EVEN A LITTLE!
Guess it's a sign that I should use someone else????
