Ok so I was checking out some e-mail and found that my FMIL has asked to speak with my FH about the guest list, without me being around. Should I worry? She has always talked to me regarding wedding stuff and has never said without Julia before, it just seems suspicious...What do you guys think?

Re: Question about FMIL
Sounds fishy . . . Make sure FH tells you EVERYTHING. The list my FILs gave me was ridiculous. It had names spelled wrong, not to mention that they originally told us 51 people and then gave us a list with only 30. That wasn't too bad compared to what happend to my cousin though. Her FILs told her they had 125 guest (so she book a min of 225) and then they gave her a list with less then 50 people on it.

I second that, she gave me a an updated copy of the list, and on the back of it, were all these people I didn't know, all her friends from work I was like no way, if I can't invite some of my own friends, no way am I inviting yours

I was thinking the same thing. But can you just ask FH? Or would he tell you?

Re: Question about FMIL
Yeah, don't hope for the worst. I was thinking it was about the shower to. Maybe she jsut wantes to point out some people she'd like invited to the showeer , b/c she doesn't know how is planning it, so she'll have her son pass it on.

Re: Question about FMIL
The first thing I thought of is maybe there is a particularly sensitive family matter she wants to discuss (not the whole list- just one family or so). But I could be wrong.
Definitely make sure your FH tells you everything and if it is just your average guest list convo, have him say that you should be there.

Re: Question about FMIL
My FMIL is so shady... She only speaks to ME about wedding details rather than my FH because she knows I am too nice (or afraid of her) to put her in her place!
I would make FH tell you details! It's YOUR wedding and you should be involved in the planning / guest list.

I would think it has something to do with your shower as well.

Re: Question about FMIL
My FH doesn't want anything do with wedding planning. He is only worried about what he is paying for. I have dealt with My FMIL about everything. So far they haven't payed for anything, but she said she'll pay for the flowers, which excludes bouquets for the bridal party and mine, as well as the boutnieers for the boys in the bridal party, and anything that has to do with the centerpieces. With the guest list: my parents are paying for the wedding, so technically I don't have a right to limit them. What I have done is split the Number. My parents get 50 his parents get 50 and We get 50. If his parents have extra people then they can pay for them. This is the only solution I could come up with.
