OK, so when I got home today (along witha huge headache from screaming 7th graders), I had a package from Fortunoff waiting for me. Now, I didn't order anything from Fortunoff recently, which leads me to believe that this must be a wedding gift......do I open it now to see, or dhould I wait until I see FH this weekend so that we can open it together. I'm pretty sure that when I ask him, he'll tell me to open it up and tell him what it is......but I wanted to see your thoughts/opinions....
BTW, How exciting!! My first wedding gift!!!

Re: question about getting gifts in the mail
I came home to a package from Crate & Barrel!! Since tomorrow is my birthday, I opened it in case it was for that (although I would have opened it anyway!!).
It is a shower gift and I think it's okay to open!!!

I'd wait, ask him, then open. I'd also ask him if you could open before seeing him in future so you don't have to wait next time

Re: question about getting gifts in the mail
If FH doesn't really mind, I see no issue with opening it. If you are going to open it and he, might be mad, I would wait. It is about the both of you!! We opened our first gifts together because he was just as excited. How exciting for you!!! I hope you enjoy it!!

Re: question about getting gifts in the mail
Hmmm, since he's not home yet from work...I say a compromise.....I check my registry one more time to see what's missing while I wait to hear from him about this big huge box sitting in my room......

I'd open and ask for forgiveness after the fact. I would be way too excited and curious...

Re: question about getting gifts in the mail
Lori I would open it and did open anything that we got ahead of time. I mainly did it incase anything was wrong or broken with it!
Congrats!! Presents are always fun!

Excellent! I can always say I was checking to see if it was broken..... This reminds me of that episode of Friends when Monica and Chandler got married and she opened all of their presents without him.....am I Monica??

The fiancee likes for me to wait for him ......- SO annoying when there's a big box just starring @ me !1 But kind of sweet. -

Re: question about getting gifts in the mail
i asked, he said to open......
3 place settings of our china!!!!
The card says it's from my aunt, but that doesn't make any sense because it says nothing about her husband of children....... how bizarre.....
