Question about having your own *business* with Mary Kay, PartyLite,

Question about having your own *business* with Mary Kay, PartyLite,

I'm going back to school in the fall. I will need to make some additional income.

I am wondering if you or anyone you know is able to make a decent amount of money doing Party Lite, Mary Kay, Avon, etc.. on a part time basis. Makeup, skincare, and candles do interest me as a person, so i wouldn't have a hard time standing behind the products.

Tell me the success or Horror Stories.

For me, I think I have what it takes as far as having an outgoing personality, basic sales abilities, and financial organization, but I don't know if it 'works' or is worth it for a part-timer. Obviously, every business is about what you put into it, but I'm curious...

Thanks for any input!

Re: Question about having your own *business* with Mary Kay, PartyLite,

my mom has a friend that started with Avon and is now like an Area Manager or something....makes good money.

I worked with a girl that does Southern Living at home items which are really nice.

The good thing about avon is you can leave the catalos in peoples' mailboxes and they can call you when they need it!

Here's a website...

they have many forums on these businesses- other women selling the same products, etc....
check it out! It might be very helpful

I sold Avon for a short time and I wound up buying more than I sold. However, if you are serious about it there is definitely money to be made. It is a good side job for some extra cash. Good luck!

I sold Tupperware for two years. The products sell themselves and you make 25% from what you make at parties. With every $1000+/month you sell, you make an extra 5% and with every $3000+ you sell, you make an extra 10%. That does not include the bonus in products you get as well as other sales incentives. You can pretty much make your own schedule and you do NOT have to buy all of the products. Though it does help to have the monthly sales specials and host gifts to show at your parties. I don't sell anymore because I cleared the massive debt I had. If you (or anyone else) is interested, I could get you more information.

Re: Question about having your own *business* with Mary Kay, PartyLite,

Just a short time ago my BIL, future SIL, DH, FIL, Mom, etc. all became distributors for a brand new nutrition based company. (My BIL was recruited to be the leader for NY.) Very few people know about this company since they’re not officially launching until Oct. 2005. I’m really excited b/c they have a very unique product that will change the nutrition industry, and even more importantly, b/c we’re getting involved so early. (The people who got involved with Mary Kay or Avon at the very beginning are extremely wealthy. I have high hopes that this company will do the same for those lucky enough to get involved now.) Ack – there’s a lot to explain, and I don’t want to sound like an ad or anything. I sent you an FM with some more information. If anyone would like to find out more, just let me know.

I don't know about those companies, but my cousin sells Pampered Chef, and she does awesome! I know she's even done so well she's gotten trips to Disney for she and her family and taken her husband to Hawaii from it! She seems to really have fun with it.
