Question about hotel prices - just booked the Hamlet G & CC

Hi all! Well, my FH and I just booked the Hamlet Golf & Country Club. Yay! We LOVED it and stopped looking once we saw it. Now, my question is this - the Wyndam Hotel is offering us a block of rooms at $149 per night. Is this a good price? Becky

Question about hotel prices - just booked the Hamlet G & CC

Hi Becky - I'm also getting married at the Hamlet in Commack. We reserved a block of rooms at the Smithtown Sheraton (pretty nice, recently remodeled) for $129. Its only about a 5 minute drive from the Hamlet. Good Luck!

Me Too!!! I`m so happy I found another wind watch bride. I actually spoke with Denise today about my disappointment with the Wyndham next door. They will only let me hold a block of rooms if the guests stay a minimum of two nights. What a bummer and they were so unaccomodating. We may go with the Marriott right across the street. What is your date? (ours: 8/3)

What?? A two night minimum? I better speak with my FH. He is taking care of this and I was so excited to have him handle it, but he didn`t mention that to me. We are getting married on July 5, 2003. But we both live in MD and so the majority of our quests probably will stay two nights. I am hoping they make a July 4th weekend out of it. The contract is on its way to us right now. I will have to take a look at the small print. They seemed very accomodating when we went over there. The events coordinator (forget her name) showed us some of their facilities, becuase the price would have been cheaper if we had our rehearsal dinner there. We didn`t like anything that we saw, though. We also looked at the suites, because we want to stay there that night of the wedding. We went over to the Marriot, but noone was there who could help us. What are their rates? Denise is awesome! We saw the Port Jeff Country Club first and I was so disappointed, not only becuase I thought it would be nicer, but becuase we met with this very young and unprofessional guy. I walked into the Hamlet muttering that we better not be meeting with another kid! Becky

Annavan and Becky

I booked the Hamlet Windwatch (Hauppauge) also. Denise is wonderful and so helpful! I also took a room-block at the Wyndam. I have a Nov. 2002 wedding and do not have the 2-night min. stay required. I called Lisa Gange (women who helped me with my room block) at the hotel and told her that I think it is unfair to require Hamlet brides to ask guests to pay for 2-nights. Most people will not do that. It is a seasonal requirement, not all the time. Call Lisa and tell her you read my post. I think she will be able to help you a lot.631-232-9800. Lisa is in the event dept. and helps with room blocks. I did have to gaurentee a min. of 10-rooms to get the room block rate. PLEASE let me know what happens. [email protected]
