Question about Interfaith Pre-Cana... do I have to go to my church for regular Pre-Cana?

I just received a call from my church regarding Pre-Cana and have not called back yet. We are getting married at Fox Hollow using a priest from my church and a rabbi (who we have not found yet). My question is, do I have to attend Pre-Cana at my church or can I choose to attend an Interfaith Pre-Cana somewhere else? I feel as though the Interfaith may be more helpful to us, although I may be wrong. Any advice, suggestions, etc will be greatly appreciated!

From what I understand (and I am NO expert) you have to take pre-cana from any of the Catholic programs. Some people do a weekend retreat, other do the weekly classes. I have not heard of a special inter-faith one but they might have them.

You don't have to do it at your church. My husband and I had our Interfaith Pre-Cana in Brooklyn. My parish is in Queens and we live in Manhattan! It was a one-day thing. (We were also married at our reception site w/ a RC Priest and Rabbi co-officiating).

Contact your diocese for a schedule and go when it's convenient for you!

Good luck!
