Question about invitations! Kind of long....sorry!

I have an appointment with the lady whom is doing my invites tonight Im excited!!!

Im trying to figure out some stuff though......

How do I address for example, My uncle, aunt and young cousin? Like this....

Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Daniel Smith
259 Aiden Court
Lynbrook, NY 11563

??? ???

Or like I read everywhere, I address my cousin on the inner envelope? I dont think I have an inner envelope....All I am getting is the invitation, respond car and the envelope for the respond card. Am I missing something?

What is the inner envelope?

TIA!!!!

if you have an inner envelope (most invites come w/this unless they're pocketfolds), then the names would go on there like, 'Aunt __ , Uncle ___ and Daniel' and the outer would have the formal names/address.

the outer envelope can be done either like this:

The Smith Family
address

OR

Mr. and Mrs Smith on the top line and (Mr.) Daniel Smith on the 2nd line, above the address.

ETA: only thing you may be missing is a Reception Card, but if you're getting married at the hall this is not necessary. In that case you can put on the bottom of the invitation something like 'reception and dinner to follow'.

I would put your cousin name on the inner envelope only

Thank you so much!

I am doing a traditional invitation....very plain and no pocketfold. Is the inner envelope the respond card envelope? Sorry if I dont understand! I really dont think I have an inner envelope except for the respond enevelope....

I think I am going to go with:

Mr. & Mrs. John Smith
Daniel Niessing
address

what do you think?

IMHO

I am not sure if the outer envelope has the space but I think it may be

Mr. and Mrs. D- Smith, cousins first name (and middle if you know it) only on first line and then the address on the following line. However, two lines are fine if all of the names will not fit.

I had inner envelopes at mine, but I really don't think they are necessary, but just kind of a holdover from a bygone era - and yet another added expense that makes no significant impact on the wedding at all.

Do you have enough invitations to send him his own, assuming he's not super young?

We are not having children at our wedding so each person is getting there own invite. So my cousins that still live at home are getting a separate invitation from their parents.

He is young....9 years old. FH and I agreed no children too except our 3 nieces and nephews and I have 1 very young cousin. All my other cousins are over 18 so they will be getting their own invites.

I ended up doing it this way....

Mr. & Mrs. Hary Smith
Daniel Smith
Address

Oh and I found out yesterday if a child is younger that 5 or 4 and there is only one child you do this.....

Mr. & Mrs. Hary Smith
Master Daniel
address

I am having the same problem-my invitation does not come with an inner envelope. The invitation store is telling me to just put all that is invited on the outside envelope but it gets wordy in some cases.

I just came across this idea: write the names of all those invited on the response card.

So it would say Mr. & Mrs. Smith, John, Kate, and Mary (kids)

Then have a spot for the people to write # attending.

I thought that was interesting.
