So we sent out the STDs this week. FMIL's list was about 20 people more than the amount I specified, so it took us a while to negotiate and cut it down. WELL now she just got a call from a couple she sent an STD to that they won't be able to make it. Do we still send them an invite? My thinking is this: Since we have looong B AND C lists, if we don't send them an invite we can bump someone up. If we do send it to them there is a chance their plans could change and they can come, soooo I'm kinda stuck....thoughts?
Its not like close friends, as far as I know, I have never met or heard of them and FH couldn't even remember their names.

I'd say yes, still send them an invite. We have a number of people who we know are not coming, but we are still inviting them.

Re: Question about invite etiquette?
Yes I would still send the invite to them regardless. They were going to get one anyway if you never sent the STD's, so you should still send one.

Yes, if you sent them a Save the date, you should send an invite.

Re: Question about invite etiquette?
Why would you not want to send them an invitation? They would probably send a gift regardless, right?

Re: Question about invite etiquette?
yeah. and if they were that swift about saying they couldn't make it with an STD, i'm sure theyll be the same way with the actual invite.

Re: Question about invite etiquette?
I would say no, I may be in the miniorty. We didn't do STD's though. We had people though who told Fh's from last year they couldn't make it and we didn't send them an invite.
