Several of my coworkers are married but I have never in the ten years that I have worked with them met their husbands. DO I have to invite them both or can I just address the invite to my co-worker without writing 'Mr. & Mrs.'? I feel like I don't know these 'husbands' and they will probably be uncomfortable anyway. And I don't want to count them in my number of guests knowing they won't come. What is the proper thing to do? TIA

Re: Question about inviting co-workers...
I think you should invite your co-workers with their spouses. I personally would be insulted if I were invited to a wedding without FH. And I think I would be even angrier if I were married. JMHO.

Re: Question about inviting co-workers...
I have the same scenerio....I invited Mr and Mrs....because after speaking to a few co workers some said that they would come by themselves and just hang out with the girls...others said that they wouldn't attend a wedding without their husbands....so im giving all the option.

I would also do the husbands ...those who want to go will and those dont wont ...but theyll have the option... I personally would not go to a wedding without my FH, even if it is for a coworker

When you get married, you are no longer two people, you are one person.
You have to invite both, it would be rather insulting if you didn't.

Re: Question about inviting co-workers...
My mom's co-worker had this problem. She talked to her co-workers about it (they were paying for e/t themselves) and explained that she wanted to invite e/o but didn't know how to go about doing it b/c she couldn't afford the spouses. She ended up inviting the co-workers that she was closest to and w/out the spouses. They had a fun 'girls night' and they all sat at one table together. Personally, I wouldn't be offended if I was invited to a co-workers wedding w/out FI, esp if all my co-workers were going to be there w/out a date and if FI had never met the co-worker. I'd just go and have fun time with everyone!

Re: Question about inviting co-workers...
I could never invite someone and not invite their significant other. However, there are 2 girls in my office who recently got married and they did not invite our co-worker's SO. That way they could invite more people that they actually knew. That's not gonna be my choice cause I know I'd want to be there with my FH, but I'm letting you know it has and can be done.

Re: Question about inviting co-workers...
I might have gone to a wedding without DH before we were married, but doubt I would now, unless it were out of town and he couldn't get the time off or something like that. If it were local, I probably wouldn't go without him.
