FH and I have a few kids in the family who will be around ages 8-12 at the time of the wedding. We are ok with inviting them. However, some of those families also have little kids or babies. How do we exclude the ones that are either not potty trained, throw temper tamtrums or run around like maniacs?

On the invitation envelope, just put the names of the children that are invited. If questions are asked, just tell people that you aren't having any kids under a certain age.

On the inner envelope, only write the names of the ppl who you want to be there.

I think that is fine, and should be understandable... what parents want to worry about their whiny kid that night anyway! lol

the only kids im inviting are my 7 neices and nephews and if anyone else ask about there kids im just telling them that we are not having kids except for immediate family

I would think that people with really little kids would find babysitters if they know they will be an issue.... no??

I don´t see a problem not inviting kids under a certain age. This was done quite a bit for weddings when I was growing up. Being the oldest I got to go to most of them but my little sis remembers being excluded from all the weddings!!
That being said, she said she didn´t like it and was so offended not being invited that she didn´t want to do that to anyone else. So at her wedding she had TONS of kids!! I´m probably going to have very few kids.
