question about inviting OOT to showers

we invited immediate family who was oot but other people from other countries, far away states... we didnt.

u can invite them to be nice. im sure they'd appreciate it.

i did b/c i didn't want to hear crap. sure enough my invites went out late, and they were the ones squawking how they DIDN'T get an invite.

none came but i recomend just sending it

A few we did as a courtesy. FMIL told us NOT to invite the OOT guests on her side, so we didn't, and one of her friends came into town recently and was so upset that she wasn't invited!

yup this is why i'm asking, because FMIL called up my sister (i'm just findin this out now) and had her cross off anyone that lived outside NY). to not even send them an invite. this included: fh's 2 aunts (fl and pa.) and 2 cousins our age (fl and ca).

i'm a little bit upset that she did this bc she and i had a convo about OOT ppl getting invites to our e-party last summer. she said not to but i insisted bc ive always felt that if they like, just bc someone moves away, doesnt mean that they're not included anymore. if they lived around the block, they would get an invite...so they should get an invite even if they live in FL...just to show that we're still thinking of them.....i dont want them to get upset hearing about it and then like, why didnt we get an invite?

i dunno, plus i'm a little pissed that she crossed ppl off MY list that I GAVE my sisters....i put them on the list, i wanted them invited.

whatever, vent over!!!! just wanted to know where u ladies all stood on the issue!
