How do they keep it hygienic and clean? I get grossed out by mall makeup counters because many people use it improperly... and I'm worried about hiring a makeup artist and then feeling like the products are dirty or contaminated. Anyone know or have any advice about this? It's giving me slight anxiety.

Re: Question About Makeup...
I'm super on top of this w/ my own makeup - but any good artist will have a cleaner on hand to clean the tops of eyeliner (for example). Honestly - your good ol fashion rubbing alcohol will do the trick too.
Place it on a q-tip or cotton ball and clean the surface of the makeup - it will kill any bacteria.
Also when you see the actual makeup from the artist - make sure it's not being used all the way down to the end, then you know its been used a lot - so i would ask if she has anything newer.
ETA: Also check the brushes - if they look matted down that's no good!!! But they should have a cleaner on hand or the rubbing alcohol to clean before applying to each person.

Re: Question About Makeup...
A few of the make up artist that i spoke to use new brushes on each bride. She may use those same brushes on your entire wedding party but it hasnt been used on people you dont know. I intend on requiring this with the artist i choose to go with. I also expect to pay a little more because i want new brushes.
I would ask the makeup artist if this is an option
