Question about marriage license and birth certificate
We're going to go for our marriage license today ( ) Last night, I noticed that my birth certificate does not list the names of my parents. How strange is that? It has everything else - my name, DOB, TOB, and the raised seal - but not who my parents are. I used this birth certificate to get my passport originally.
Do you think I will have a problem getting my marriage license?

Re: Question about marriage license and birth certificate
I went to the town of Hempstead. They did not ask for my birth certificate.
I was just easier.

Re: Question about marriage license and birth certificate
My DH has one like this too - its really wierd - the passport people weren't sure they would accept it, but it was fine. It was fine when we got our license too. If they do give you a problem, he can always get a duplicate from the state. I made DH do this just in case.

Re: Question about marriage license and birth certificate
Oh, good then. I shouldn't have a problem - I'll bring my passport, birth certificate, and license.
I was just worried because this site (under NYS Marriage License) states this: A person is required to establish proof of age and identity by submitting to the issuing clerk one of the following age related documents:
Birth Certificate Baptismal record Naturalization record Census record
And one of the following identity related documents:
Driver's license Passport Employment picture ID Immigration record
But if you ladies didn't have a problem, I shouldn't either. Thanks!
