Question about my 'to do's' right now and changing my name...
So I just checked my to-do list on theknot.com and it says that I should be 'doing the official paperwork to change my name', but when I click on the link it says I can't do anything regarding name changing until after the wedding?? What gives?? Is there something I am able to do right now to get the name changing ball rolling, or do I have to wait until after the wedding?

Well what you can do now, it get all your paper work filled out and ready to go. I received a 'wedding' package from my employer which included most of the forms and I have been filling them out so by the time I get back from HM all I'll need is my marriage certificate to make the change. HTH.

When you get yourmariage license it should ask you what your intended surname will be after the wedding. After it gets returned to you AFTER the wedding, you will need to take it to Social Security first. I do suggest to make a couple copies or even order a few of your new marriage license. Social Security is the most important.

I was wondering about that too~ I have all my papers ready- but I want to start the change-over now~ Someone told me that if you have the marriage license now then you can start doing little things~ (I have to re-order checks soon but I don't want to until I change my name)
