Question about officiant invite???

My ceremony and reception are in the same place. Even though our priest and cantor will be at the reception hall, only closen to perform the ceremony for THAT day, is it proper to invite them formally to stay for the reception itself? In other words, we have met with them solely to perform a ceremony for us and they have no previous relationships with us or our families. Please help...Stacey 6-30-01

Question about officiant invite???

Yes, you always send a formal invitation to the officiant (and spouse if they have one). They will generally decline unless they have a closer relationship with the couple.
