When you make OOT guest bags, do you have the hotel deliver them to the rooms ahead of time, or do you give them to the guests personally?

Usually the hotel will take care of that for you. They usually give them out as guests check in.

Re: question about OOT Guest bags
The front desk handed them to my guests as they checked in.

You can have the front desk hand them out. I used to work the front desk at a hotel and that's what everyone did. Sometimes there are last minute changes in room #'s so the hotel prefers not to put them in the rooms ahead of time.

Re: question about OOT Guest bags
I had never heard of these before this site, but it's SUCH a cute idea. We'll have a ton of OOT guests, so I'll definitely have to make a nice OOT bag for all of them!
(Boy am I getting ahead of myself or what!? )

It depends on the hotel ... some hotels hand them out at the desk, others will only deliver to the room.

Re: question about OOT Guest bags
the hotel i used had them behind the front desk. they then put a 'note' in each guest's file.
it was cute, because they were all under a 'banner' that said 'Garcia Wedding'. i felt so important
FYI: lable each bag with the name of the person whose name the room is under. this makes for less chance of a guest not receiving the bag.
i must say, that my guests loved them

That was my next question!

Re: question about OOT Guest bags
Most that I have received have tylenol/advil, a bottle of water, gum/mints, granola/nutragrain bars, chips, gatorade, a note card with things to do in the area and directions to the reception. I'll probably do the same. I was going to get all creative, and then decided just to save the money

you can put anything you want in them. remember it's a token gift thanking them for making the trip.
that being said, this is what i included...
a day-of timeline. map of area... many will leave the one you put in invite at home thank you note pretzels personalized bottle of water gold fish crackers tylenol alkaselzer tictacs
this is how i 'personalized' ours i did a little research (fm me if you want me to give you info on nys)(i live in nj) and found some info on foods that are 'local' state fruit: blueberry... i included yogurt covered blueberries nj is the country's third top 'producer' of cranberries... i included cranberry scones (homemade from scratch...mmmmm) m&ms are manufactored in hacketstown, nj... i included a 'fun pack'
i also included a note letting people know about the 'state foods'
local folks, especially, got a kick out of the info they didn't know about our state
hth
eta: this is a great time of year to buy 'individual sized' foods b/c of halloween being around the corner

Re: question about OOT Guest bags
I made fall themed ones (the outside of the bag). On the inside we are putting water, pretzels, trail mix, a couple apples, mini packets of tylenol, tums, and some kind of mints, and a card
I wasn't sure how they got to the rooms either

Re: question about OOT Guest bags
We are having them handed out when people check in. at the desk..If I wanted them delivered to the room that is $5 extra and I am not paying for that
