Question about OPK

I'm new to this so please be patient with me - especially if this has been asked before. : )

I was reading the pamphlet for the OPK, and it says that the best time to take a urine sample is between 12 noon and 8:00pm.
It also says that you can test first thing in the am, but that it is better to do it later in the day. That's not really convenient when I'm at work all day!

I leave for work at 5:30am, and usually get home around 7:00pm. When should I test???? I'm so confused. I'm supposed to start testing today - Ovulating on the 11th or 12th - and I have no idea when to do it. LOL!

I bring the OPK with me to work and do it at lunch.

All you have to do is pee on the stick and cover it with the cap. Then I just wait til I get the results (i bring it back to my desk and keep it in my drawer) LOL

I usually test around 2pm and that seems to be a good time for me.

They say that you can test first thing in the morning but that later in the day is better.

I guess that's what I'll have to do then!

What I usually do is unwrap it before I go in to the bathroom - that way people don't hear all the noise LOL Trying to keep some sort of privacy while taking an OPK in the office bathroom!!

i never heard that teh best time was in teh fternoon what kind of kits do you use? I have used first response ovulation kits i nebver hread that! Maybe im doing it wrong!

I never heard this either, I used the First response also, and when I first started I only tested in the morning.
Then if I got a surge in the am I would test again in the pm. I went through a lot of sticks.
But - it worked for me.

It's the Target brand. Maybe I should buy something better?

I have never used these, but bought some to see what happens. AF showed up this AM ( no HM baby for us...though not for lack of trying )
Does the surge line have to be much darker? The same? If its lighter that means test again till it gets darker?

( sorry if I sound dumb..lol)

I bring mine to work as well. I use the CVS brand, I too didn't notice the time.

Just make sure you bring a sandwich baggie with you, so as not to get anything 'wet'. Once I finish in the bathroom, I put the stick in the baggie and look at the results later on.

Sorry no HM baby for you!! I was kinds disappointed about that too...
The surge line has to be darker than or the same as the test line. It should say in the instructions. I use the Rite Aid OPKs and my surge line had to be the same color at the test line, thats when I know I am getting the surge and will O within 2 days (give or take).
