Question about our vendor reviews and recommendations????
I am using all non-LIW vendors for my wedding. Does that now mean that LIW won't even want me to post a review? If someone likes my RH, I can't tell them the name of the vendor without being kicked off? I thought this was supposed to be an open forum. I would like to know now, before I spend time and energy reviewing vendors and trying to help other girls with info only to find out I am being kicked off.

Good Question! I thought we could review anyone we used I mean how else does one become a reccomended vendor if LIW girls don't reccomend them

welll im using burtons for flowers and they arent a vendor on here. i have seen tonsss of reviews on them.

People recommend non-LIW vendors all the time. I think the issue is when it becomes more of a solicitation and not a recommendation. For example, if you were 'recruiting' people for a certain non-liweddings vendor. I don't think you will have any problems if you recommend non-liweddings vendors.

I've tried to post the name of my photographer to recc to other brides and it doesnt let me type the name so i just hyphened it out

I think there is a fine line between soliciation and recommendation - if someone FM's me and asks me who did my hair for my wedding, and then they want the persons contact info, of course I am going to help her out and probably tell her prices too. So I guess that would seem like I am 'recruiting' for that vendor because I am pushing business his or her way while they are not a LIW-vendor. Meanwhile, I am not affiliated with that vendor, I receive no kick-back on business that vendor recieves, etc. I just think someone did a great job and I want to make sure that someone who also thinks they did a great job can contact them. Maybe LIW can pin a post about what they consider to be appropriate so we don't have tons of confused ladies, people getting kicked off the site for reasons they don't understand, etc. Stuff like this fosters ill-will and we are all here to help each other!
