Question about passports

I checked on the USPS website about getting our passports (since thats the next thing I want to take care of) and it says you can either get the passport book or passport card, or both together. What is the difference? We are going to Mexico so what should I get? Please help!

i noticed that recently myself and have no clue what the diff is...

ETA: basically its tellin you to get the passport book... this card seems like its a good, cheaper answer for those that cross over into canda and mexico frequently

ok here is the deal... living in buffalo it's on the news every other day since canada is 20 min away.

the pasport card/licence deal is good for land or sea travel.

you still need the book passport if you are going out of country by air.

oh you're tellin me... we just got our passports last yr just to make things easier and they only allow you up to 1 yr i think to have your name changed on it... otherwise you have to pay to have a whole new passport... i was fummming when i read that!
