After we book our RH next week, I really would like to go see Thomas Paul photography because I think his pictures are simply amazing. I also want to have E-pics taken asap and from the one's I've seen by him, I want TP to do it. Problem is, I live in queens and everyone is saying I'm crazy to see a photographer in suffolk. (It's inconvenient, what if they are late or get stuck in traffic on the wedding day...etc) So far every wedding related decision I have made has been subject to criticism from everyone around me....so let me get some unbiased opinions, lol.
Is it too far??? Would you guys book a photographer that far from your homes? Can anyone recommend a TP replica closer ot Queens??

Re: Question about photographer distance
i dont think that is too far! if they are professional they will leave with plenty of extra time - its your wedding day - and i think you should have whatever you want within your means

I don't think it will be a big deal. Tom is great and I'm sure he'll give himself more than enough time to get to queens. If you love his work as much as I do you should def. book him!

Re: Question about photographer distance
I live in queens also..Im taking pics with a neighborhood photography studio. i will let you know how it goes if your interested.
Also, I think for the most part, the photographers from a different location will either come to you or meet you in a neutral location which is always a good thing!

Don't worry! I live farther out then you (Brooklyn). I hear it all time, 'Why don't you have your RH in the area. Because I want to do something different. Their is nothing wrong with your photographer being far away. Besides he is familiar with the RH venues in the LI Area.

Re: Question about photographer distance
they could possibly just figure in traveling costs to the overall package price. I think photographers would go anywhere as long as they were getting paid. lol.

Re: Question about photographer distance
I don't think you should worry about the distance. I'm in Queens and my Rh is on the Queens/Nassau border and my photographer is in Suffolk by Jamestown.

Re: Question about photographer distance
don't even worry about that. I know someone who lives in Queens and booked Thomas Paul, obviously he will know that there might be traffic and leave ahead of time, he has to travel to weddings every weekend so i think he knows by now what traffic is like and about getting to a place on time.
I also live in Queens and my videographer is in Suffolk and other vendors are in LI
