So I want to have simple invitations printed up and do some things to make them pretty myself. Does anyone know where I can get them printed for cheap? I don't think I can print them myself because I don't have a laser printer.
Thanks!

Re: Question about Printing Invites
you can try asking kinkos if they'll do it for you or even staples. or better yet, you can borrow a nice printer from someone to make your invites.

Re: Question about Printing Invites
I have heard of people using ink printers, so just b/c you don't have a laser printer does not necessarily mean you can't print them.

I am not sure b/c I am using laser myself, however here is a link to some people that discuss laser vs. ink.
Some people do say laser is better, but others say you should be fine with ink. I am sure you can FM some of those brides for help and questions.
Also, i know of another bride who on the boards and has helped me a great deal with invitations, so I will FM her as well.
Thank you!

Re: Question about Printing Invites
u can print on inkjet printers.. u just have to watch the kind of paper that u buy.. now if u'r stuck on using a particualr kind of paper that doesn't hold ink jet ink then u may be in a bit of a bind.

So can I just look for cardstock that you can use an inkjet printer from?

Def. I have printed things I've made with my inkjet I just had to mention it to the people I was purchasing the specialty paper from and they directed me to the best fit for inkjets. Try paperandmore.com

Re: Question about Printing Invites
also just keep in mind however you will need to feed the paper into your particular printer. sometimes if the paper is a heavy cardstock and your printer wants to curve it to print on it, it may jam (some flip paper like a sideways 'U'). But some printers feed in and print out straight with no problems. Good Luck!

I had suggested to tlp123 to look at the kits at Michael's. They have Anna Griffin line which I purchased. I use inkjet and was able to print them out. The ones I chose have a vellum overlay and that's what I printed on for the most part but I also did some RSVP cards and they came out OK. My printer is from 2000 and it has a tendency to spit ink some times so that did give me a little trouble but I think it's the age. It aslso could be finicky with feeding the thicker paper in and using the paper type of heavy matte on it didn't make a difference. So I just was persistent and kept feeding it until it went through. This was when it liked to spit the ink at me! My FH did RSVP's that had clipart. His is a newer inkjet and they came out terrific. No one realized we did them ourselves even though my envelopes had mixed font addressing! You might want to look at the kits rather than starting from scratch with cardstock because they do give you some design already. I got ones with a pink rose background softened with the vellum overlay. They also have ones with vellum folders and ones with printed paper. But the colors might be limited and not what you like. ACMoore carris either Gartner or Wilton if you want to check those styles. If you use 40 or 50% coupons the prices are very reasonable. Mine were $40 for 50 invites beforw coup. ACMoore prices are a little less.
I do agree with the person who said tho be careful if the printer flips the card. the RSVP's misaligned by 1 line on FH printer cause it 'bent' a bit at perforation between 2 RSVP's as it went thru the printer . It was easy to fix but you do need to check things and do trial runs.

Re: Question about Printing Invites
i just printed out my invites...outer & inner envelopes on my printer and it is NOT a laser printer.
granted i had to feed them in one-by-one but it really wasnt a big deal. very easy & saved me $$$!!!! they came out great...my fam could not believe how pretty they came out!
download a fancy font from www.dafont.com & go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
