I want to add to my Centerpieces little pumpkins carved out with votive candles inside of them. My question is how to keep the pumpkins from rotting? We would have to carve them out like a week or so before the wedding. Can anyone help?
Hum... A week might be a bit long, but I used to carve pumpkins all the time with my cousins using the kits. They say to put Vaseline on the part that you carve to keep it from shriveling and rotting. I tried this once. It got messy, but did keep it for a bit longer.

I was also going to suggest vaseline, but don't know if it would last a week..
