Question about putting extra beading on a gown

I don't know if I will do it for sure but I think I might want to get extra beading put on my dress after it comes in. The beading is on the organza that is over the dress fabric. Do you think a seamstress would tackle a job like that?

I think maybe I shouldn't touch it, I'm too afraid that it won't come out the way I would want it to. But always good to know somene that is experienced in doing things like this.

Thanks.

You will have to check with your seamstress to see if your seamstress will want to add beading to the dress. Your seamstress may not have the right beading or the right skills.

I got my dress alterations through Kleinfelds and had extra beading sewn at the top to match the beading at the waist. They have a beading department in addition to their regular seamstresses to handle that.

Another thought is that if your dress is on order you are probably better off having the original designer put the extra beading on. You should ask the shop where you ordered your dress to see if they can add the beading.

Good luck.
