Question about putting together invites

I read the LIW instructions on assembling the invites.

are you really supposed to put all the enclosures (rsvp card, directions, hotel info) on top of the invite in the inner envelope?

That's what the lady where I ordered my invites from said too. Seems weird, but that's what she told us.

The invitation place that i ordered them from told me to put the enclosures behind the invitation so the first thing that they see is the invitation. Also you are supposed to assume that everyone is right handed and the invitation can be pulled out with right hand with the writing facing up.

The invitation place that i ordered them from told me to put the enclosures behind the invitation so the first thing that they see is the invitation. Also you are supposed to assume that everyone is right handed and the invitation can be pulled out with right hand with the writing facing up.

I didn't listen to etiquette and I put the invitation first and put the enclosures on the back under the ribbon (thank you neesiepie for that idea.)

I did the same. My vendor said to put the invite first, the RSVP inside the RSVP envelope, the reception info inside the RSVP flap and the directions behind that.

I took a poll down here in the dungeon and 10 of my coworkers never even knew there was an order - I had my answer.

That is what I was told also, but I did not do it. I put them behind the invite, tucked behing the response card. I wanted the invitation to be the first thing people saw when they opened the envelope, and frankly, the direction cards just were not pretty. No one commented on this, and I think everything was easy to find.

I think you should assemble them the way you want. 95% of your guests will probably not notice if it is different than the recommended method.

They all say they rip it open and lay it on the table and start reading. I wanted everyone to see the pretty invite first not the direction card. I say do what you want. I am getting lax in my bride duties.
