Question about reception decor

Hey everyone! So I'm surfing the web for all kinds of things I could buy for the reception room like sashes, table numbers, etc. I'm assuming that if I purchase all of these things on my own, the people who set up the room the day of my wedding will be decorating it as well? So if I buy 200 sashes for chairs, will they set them up for me or are there additional fees for that? I know some places charge PP for things like chair covers, etc, but I assume they are provided by the venue..so I didn't know how it worked if I purchased those things on my own. Any feedback would be great!

Also, anyone who is getting married or has gotten married at Floral Terrace, I was throwing around the idea of swapping out the tulle that surrounds the railings of the dance floor with somethings more appropriate for winter (garland, holly berries, etc). Has anyone done or seen that? It doesn't have to be at Floral Terrace, but I see that tulle in every picture they have, and I wanted to change it up a bit, lol. I feel like I'm more obsessed with room decor over other things, like my dress.

Generally the RH staff would set up things like that, and they might have a fee. Your best bet is to call them and make sure. Some halls might not even let you bring in outside chair covers they may require you to use theirs so call them for sure. My MOHs wedding was at JT and I belive (if I can remember) that draping around the railing is entwined with lights as well so I don't think it can be removed, but I shouldn't see why you couldn't add holy or garland over it, that's probably something you can ask your florist to do.

Hope that helps!

you should make sure if they have a fee to do like an excessive amount. I'm in the catering business and I am anal about centerpieces facing the same way and things being aligned.. I'm having a DOC for my day so she will set all of that up for us and make sure it's done the right way aka the way I want! haha

You should ask them if you can stop by and see it decorated during the time of your wedding. When FH and I went to book our RH's they all suggested that we come in by the first week of Jan. I'm glad we did because there was one place we saw that was GORGEOUS but wayyyyyyy too christmas'd out for us. I'm talking santa's and elves and cherubs and angels with trumpets. Too much red and gold ... not what I was going for.

I actually emailed my reception hall manager and she said that we should go there a few days in advance with the things we want to decorate, we tell them how they want it and they take care of it.. she said you should not have to worry about a thing on your wedding day, which put me at ease :)
