I am going to look at places next weekend for my reception. Do you have to make an appointment or can you just go there unexpected?

Re: Question About Reception Halls
it is best to make an appt. that way you can sit down with a banquet manager and discuss prices and packages better, and not worry that they might have another bride coming who made an appt., if you didn't.

Re: Question About Reception Halls
It depends on which RH you go to, some of them you do need an appointment and other you can just walk right in. With my RH, no app. was needed, we just walked right in on a Sat afternoon and they helped us immediately

I think it's best if you make appts so that you know for sure that they have time to meet with you.

Re: Question About Reception Halls
I would definitely make an appointment. Also, a lot of the time they have weddings on the weekend and won't show you the room so it might be better to go during the week at night.

Yes and if you call ahead of time you will see if they are available on your day so you don't waste your time loving a RH only to see that its not a possibility on your date.

That's what I love about Westbury Manor! Always willing to help you whenever you walk in! It made me feel so welcome!
All the other places I checked out I needed an appt., those were Venetian Yacht Club, Chateau La Mer, Woodbury Country Club, and Chateau Briand... CB was especially picky about appointments

Re: Question About Reception Halls
I just walked in to a few and it was fine but I do recommend you call up first and make sure. Some of them require appointments. I also recommend you go on a week night after work and not on a weekend because the RH's will be crazy on weekends. However, if you plan on booking a particular hall I recommend you visit on a weekend before you actually book just so you can see how crazy it gets, it might persuade your opinion.

I would make appointments. They can't always accomodate a walk-in, and you definitely want to have enough time to sit and talk and look around.

Well so far the venetian yacht club, and chateau la mer, we really like the idea of something with a water view
