I am having a band/DJ combo. FH and I have an agreement that we really want the DJ playing more then the band. Should we just reserve the band for our special dances and that's all, or during a alotted amount of time, or what? I have no idea because any wedding I have been to they either have a DJ or a band, not both. We are also getting a Sax player that I was thinking could play some nice jazz during dinner, what do you think?
Most of the weddings that I've been to including my own that had both had the band play more than the DJ and the MC from the band did all the special ceremonial stuff and announcements. I guess it could be the other way around too.
FH and I aren't really 'band' people, but we wanted to give everyone something they wanted (and my dad really likes this band). Maybe we can have it equally. Definitely don't the band playing more then the DJ.
You should have what you want. I think your guests will like them equally if they are good at what they do. Don't worry to much about it. I would definitely choose which one would do the special dances and the MCing so there's no confusion.
