So today I brought my FI, mother, and mother-in-law to Fortunoff's for the first chapter of the lovely process of registering. . Now my question is, how many settings did you register for your dinnerware (china)? I registered for 18 because we both have big families. Is that way too much?

Not at all - but here is a pearl from my sis. Register for 1-2 extra settings. China breaks and patterns get discontinued; always good to get an extra set or two.
