Question about Royal Carib

Question about Royal Carib

DH and I will be going on our first cruise. I wanted to know what the boarding process is like and how efficient the online check in is.

I was a little apprehensive that my middle name did not print on my boarding pass but it's on my passport. Are they (customs) strict with that?

I made my reservations in my maiden name because that's how it appears on my passport, but when you check-in online, they ask for marital status. Can I still say 'married' even though my documents are in my maiden name?
Do they ask about that when boarding?

I know I seem paranoid but this is my first trip at sea. I never had a problem at the airport but the reps at Royal said just to make sure your passport document name matches what's on their reservations. It does.

Don't stress your fine. Just make sure the name you give them matches the info on your passport and ID. Have a great time...I Love RC!!!

What ID exactly? My drivers License is in my married name, but I have plenty of copies of my marriage cert.

You have FM. You could also call RC to confirm.

Just a tip...I'd get there as early as possible if I were you. Boarding is long and boring and hot...the sooner you get there, the sooner you beat the crowds...the sooner you're on the ship, the sooner your vacation starts!

As for the passport thing...we went a couple of days after the wedding so everything was in my maiden name...I'm pretty sure they want it to match the passport...when you get off the ship at port, make sure to bring your passport with you because they usually want to see ID for you to get back on the ship and if the name on your license doesn't match the name on your SeaPass (your on ship ID) then they won't let you back on the ship.

It's OK, the same thing happened on my boarding pass last year when we went on Royal Caribbean. I called the travel agent, and she said that it was fine.

RC is awesome! I just came home from an Alaskan cruise with them and I can't say enough about them.

When you get there they ask for ID- a driver's license is acceptable for RC, but you will need your passport if the cruise leaves the US. As long as your ID matches your boarding pass, you will be fine. Once you board, you receive a SeaPass card- this is basically your key to everything on the ship- shopping, room charges, account charges, and your admittance on and off the ship.

The cruise I just came back from never asked for my ID when re-boarding from the ports (only the SeaPass card was needed), but we did stay in the US.

If your ID says your maiden name, and you booked in your maiden name- you should be fine. I wouldn't worry about your middle name, and I'm sure the marital status won't matter. They know you're on your honeymoon

One more tip- When you're leaving the ship to come home, they offer to take your luggage off the ship for you. I personally don't like this, because they take the luggage off the ship, and then dump it in a pick-up area at the dock. Once you leave the ship, you have to go find your luggage, and it's not the most organized thing in the world.

You have the option to take your own luggage off the ship, which I prefer for a speedier disembarkment, since you skip the searching process
