I just recieved a gorgeous invite to a friends wedding, and on the RSVP card there are 2 choices for food, either Filet mignon and shrimp or salmon and veggies.
Is anyone else doing this????

I'm not.. there are too many choices for the guests. Plus i think it looks more simple without those details.

Re: Question about RSVP Cards Please read
We have 5 choices and I am not putting them on the responce cards
Guests can wait till that night to decide what they want to eat

those might be the only 2 choices and the RH may only make enough for one plate per person i've heard of this before.

Not doing it because dinner's usually a game-time decision for me and I ASSume that everyone is like me.
I went to a wedding where I checked off something then ate my FHs food b/c his looked better.

Fh is from Albany and we have a lot of friends up there... in NY, it's an upstate thing.

maybe she read it or saw it somewhere and thought it was a good idea...I remember girls on the knot used to talk about this alot, or maybe she saw it in a magazine and liked the idea

Re: Question about RSVP Cards Please read
is it a a long island or NYC wedding? outside of the 5 boroughs and LI, weddings tend to be very different.
my SIL is from upstate NY, and when her and my brother came down for my wedding--and i was telling her how the day was she was SHOCKED at the following:
1) that i didn't have to 'set up' anything before hand, like decorations. (explained the RH does that)
2)that i didn't have to 'rent' tables, chairs, linens, etc. (again, told her the RH has that in the price)
3)that i had a full open bar for the entire day (she assumed open bar for CH, and then cash bar or beer/wine)
4)the amount of food at the CH...she had never seen anything like that in her life

Re: Question about RSVP Cards Please read
i'm not doing it because my guests have a choice of 7 dishes and can decide the night of. There are venues that need to know ahead of time though so it's very common everywhere but LI. I have friends who've done it on the Island as well because sometimes the venue will cut you a deal if they only hafta order a certain amount of meat.

They are both from Long Island, and its in Suffolk so its not an upstate wedding, I am very excited about the filet mignon though!!!! Cant wait!

Re: Question about RSVP Cards Please read
pick one and then have FH pick the other - that way if you dont like yours you can eat his and you always win!
i have never seen that - honestly i thought it was an 80s thing until i saw posts on here about it!

Re: Question about RSVP Cards Please read
Less expensive....RH actually sometimes says that if you can tell them the exact orders they bring the price down. RH in NJersey told this to me.
They bring the price down a bit...

Re: Question about RSVP Cards Please read
if its an up state wedding i understand because that is about 75% of out of up state weddings have that, if in ny then i would understand they might have a fix entree in order to save money.

Re: Question about RSVP Cards Please read
I am not doing this, its will look a little odd and plus my guests have 7 coices to choose from so it will look silly to list them on the rsvp's. I have seen this on invites though
