so our favors are 1/2 bottles of wine, personalized playing cards and bells. i'm not sure how to set them up on the table. we will definitely be setting up the bells on the tables since they're to be used in place of clinging the glasses, but the wine and cards are not so easy. should i set them up one at every other place setting even if it is a table of singles and then put the extras by the door for the people to take as they eave or should i set them up on the tables as the people are seated. for instance one table has 11 people - 3 couples and 5 singles so then that table would get 8 favors. or should i do 6 (every other place setting) and then the poeple who don't get will just grab one of the extras as they're leaving?

I am going to set them up with one per couple and one per single-however that works out

Same here. We bought cake boxes from The American Wedding to put our favors in.

We had the favors arranged at a table by the dais. Then my mother and myself (MOH) went around after my sister and BIL went to thank everyone and gave them their favor. We did this after dinner right before everyone got up to dance again. That way we knew that either every 'family' received one. Since we had extra those 'adult children' received an extra one for themselves. If we placed them out by the door we knew that some people were going to be greedy and take more than one which would run the risk of there not being enough. We couldn't put them on the table because we had the centerpieces, votives, candy tins, photo guest book pages, and on those tables that had children we had coloring books and crayons for them. Just too crowded.
