Question about shopping for BM dress?

Tomorrow I am going to look at BM dresses with my MOH. My bms will not be there. Does every bm have to go? When I find a dress that I am interested in, what is the best way to explain to my bms when to pay for the dress or make an appointment to get fitted. I also have one BM that lives over 2 hours away. I am also worried they will not go and get fitted or pay soon enough. What are some things I should be looking for or expect when I am shopping for bm dresses. Thanks

Well, first of all, depending on how many BMs you have, save yourself alot of heartache and do not take them all shopping at once.

I went with only my MOH and together she and I picked out their dresses. It was alot easier and far more pleasant this way. The next part isn't as easy. Getting them to come in and get measured, well that took at least 2 phone calls a piece and some serious hand holding. But that also depends on how responsible your girls are... I knew what I was in for with mine!

First I sent them emails about EVERYTHING. Sometimes two or three about the same topic, reminders, etc. I always ended up still having to call them.

I say an email with a follow up phone call should do the trick to get them in. Explain thoroughly the payment schedule and then explain again once a month every month for the next several months until your wedding. Enjoy!

i went with all my BM who lived in the area b/c i wanted them to be able to pick a dress the each liked and then i narrowed it down to the final dress! my bm who lived in buffalo was too far but i told her to shop online and show me the ones she liked!

Re: Question about shopping for BM dress?

I only had 3 girls..My 2 sisters & my niece. My MOH lives in NY the other 2 live in Oregon. I took my MOH to a place near her they had the dress I liked but, told her to look around. She loved the dress I did. So I went on the designers web-site saw where they sold the dress in Oregon. Called the store to make sure they had a sample & then e-mailed my sister directions to the store. My sister is FAR to laid back for my liking so I had to push her into going. They tried on the dress they also loved it & then they ordered them. It actually worked out alot easier then I thought.
