when is an appropiate time to host a shower party? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or more months before the wedding? what's the average more or less?
I think the average is about 2-3 months before
mine was 4 months before my wedding so i dont really think it matters! i think they did it early because my sister in law was 9 months prego and wanted to get it done with before the craziness with the baby began!

its normally 2 months i believe but mine was 3 months before... i wanted to have it earlier bc i felt like at 2 months, i would be soo involved and stressed with other things... and im almost at 2 months and things are starting to get crazy with appts now and all the little details so im glad it was 3 months before
Im having mine 1 month before....I really wanted it 2 months before, but it didnt work for all my BMs

Mine is 4 months before, but I like it better this way, because I know I'm going to be going NUTS Sept-Dec, plus is gives us plenty of time to purchase the necessities we don't receive.
well, i thought they had mine early they had it in may and i am getting married in august, but you can have it like a month or two before because then otherwise you have no idea where to put all your stuff....which is the situation I am in half of my stuff is cramped FH's basement on top of his mom's treadmill lol

I agree....
Had mine in early April, because my sister/MOH was expecting (had the baby on 4/20) AND because May/June are crazy months for music teachers like myself. My mother had to tell me months in advance to block out that particular date!!!!!!!
I don't know what's considered proper, but Donna's is two months before. Mary MOB
